Captured from the live site in October 2026. Clients keep their sites moving after handover, so some details differ from the version I delivered.
The brief
EnergyNow publishes Canadian and international energy news, press releases, events and industry data on energynow.ca and its sister site energynow.com, funded by advertising in the header, the content and the sidebar.
What I did
At TeamQ I managed the expansion of both sites, integrating fintech tools into the WordPress builds on GeneratePress.
Visual concept
Open Sans throughout, bold for headlines and regular for everything else. One humanist sans keeps a page with dozens of stories, ads and data widgets feeling like one publication, and its open shapes stay readable at the small sizes a news layout needs.
Black (#000000) for the navigation bar and footer, white for the reading area, orange (#f9a020) for actions such as More News, and sky blue (#24a2dc) for live data and the active page. Every block opens with a hairline header, so the colour is saved for what you can click.
