About Arvind
Version history of a web person.
I am Arvind Kumar, a senior full-stack WordPress developer and SEO, AEO and GEO specialist. Today I am the only in-house web person at an enterprise software company, where I own the website end to end. Before that came a 20,000+ SKU store, agency builds for clients on three continents and a classroom at Conestoga. Off the clock: basketball, research and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Below is the career as a changelog, because that is the format I trust.
How I work
Performance first
Minimal JavaScript, compositor-friendly CSS, surgical edits. When the plugin I need does not exist, or exists and weighs four megabytes, I write it. This site is the proof: look at the footer.
Own the whole stack
Interface, theme, plugins, CI/CD, hosting, analytics and search. I am the only web person at an enterprise company, so every layer is mine and problems get fixed where they live instead of patched where they show.
The code is mine
I have led a remote team of 10+ developers and I teach WordPress at Conestoga, and I still write the code. The architecture, the base and the critical code are mine; I write the specifications and review every change before it ships. AI is a production tool: it helps me deliver faster and stress-test what I build.
How I lead
Teams of developers, staff and agencies, students and an intern. I set the standard, review the work and stay hands-on.
A remote team of 10+
TeamQ Developers
I led a remote team of more than ten developers building WordPress, WooCommerce and HubSpot-integrated sites for clients in Canada, Ecuador, Germany and Colombia: the architecture, the standards and the reviews.
Staff and agencies, in sprints
Atlas Tools & Machinery
I led three internal staff and two external agencies in weekly sprints, running a 20,000+ SKU store that sold to the public and to contractors.
Mentoring and teaching
Jonas, Design Republik, Conestoga
I onboarded and mentored developers at Jonas Club Software, mentored the agency's web development intern at Design Republik, and I teach web development at Conestoga College.
Selling the idea upward
BlueCat Networks
I make the case for new web work in plain business terms, set the standards the work follows and report to marketing leadership.
