What is SQL?
SQL, Structured Query Language, is how applications and people read and write relational databases: SELECT to ask, JOIN to combine tables, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE to change data.
It began at IBM in the 1970s and became an ANSI standard in 1986. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and BigQuery all speak a dialect of it.
How I use SQL
Every WordPress site runs on SQL underneath. I write it for custom queries in plugins, for reports and for clean-ups after migrations, and I studied PHP and MySQL at Seneca.
Projects with SQL
None of the projects on this site are tagged SQL yet. The closest work is my MySQL projects.
