What is TypeScript?
TypeScript adds static types to JavaScript: a variable, the arguments of a function and the shape of an API response are declared, and the compiler flags code that breaks them before anything runs. It compiles to plain JavaScript, so it runs wherever JavaScript does.
Microsoft released it in 2012. Most large front-end codebases and many Node.js tools are written in it today.
