What is Cloudflare?
Cloudflare sits between visitors and a site's server. It answers DNS, caches pages and files close to visitors, blocks attacks and bad bots, and lets you change requests at the edge with rules, redirects and Workers.
For most sites the gain is speed and safety at once. During migrations it is also where redirects can live without touching the old servers.
How I use Cloudflare
Cloudflare is part of the stack I run day to day. During domain migrations I use it for redirects that map old pages one to one onto their new homes while the legacy hosting is shut down.
At TeamQ, DNS, email records and Cloudflare were part of every client migration, and Cloudflare was one of our standard speed tools, with WP Rocket and Autoptimize.
