What is GSAP?
GSAP animates anything JavaScript can touch: CSS properties, SVG, canvas and plain objects, with timelines that sequence many tweens and keep them in sync. Its ScrollTrigger plugin ties animation to the scroll position.
It is known for behaving the same in every browser and for performance that holds up on long, complex sequences. Webflow acquired GreenSock in 2024, and GSAP and all its plugins became free to use.
How I use GSAP
GSAP has been in my motion work since Jonas, where I shipped the company's first dark-mode club site with glassmorphism and GSAP and ScrollMagic animation. At Mentor Harbor Yachting Club, tweens tied to the scroll carry Experience Life and On the Water past each other while the harbour pins for three screens.
This portfolio runs on GSAP too: the case study stage that grows to fill the screen, the tool rail that speeds up as you scroll, and the strip of private work under frosted glass.
