What is GraphQL?
GraphQL is a query language and runtime for APIs. Instead of calling several fixed endpoints, a client sends one query describing the data it wants, and the server returns exactly that shape. Facebook built it in 2012 and released it in 2015.
BigCommerce offers a GraphQL Storefront API, which is how a storefront reads products, prices and inventory without over-fetching.
How I use GraphQL
At Atlas I moved the BigCommerce store to an API-first setup on GraphQL: real-time inventory sync, simpler integrations and a roadmap toward a headless storefront.
