One card payment, from checkout to reconciliation. A diagram, not a screenshot: the plugin was written for agency clients and runs on their sites.
The problem
Clients in Latin America needed to take cards through Paymentez, a regional processor with no WooCommerce plugin.
What I built
I wrote the gateway from the Paymentez API documentation up, on WooCommerce's payment gateway API, so it works like any other payment method at checkout.
It handles tokenisation, authorisation and capture, refunds from the order screen, and webhook reconciliation, so the order status always reflects what the processor actually did.
Under the hood
- Checkout. The shopper chooses card payment at a normal WooCommerce checkout.
- Tokenise. The card details are tokenised.
- Authorise. The payment is authorised and captured through the Paymentez API.
- Webhook. Webhooks report what the processor did, and the order status follows.
- Refund. Refunds go back through Paymentez from the WooCommerce order screen.
Guardrails
- Order status follows the processor's webhooks, not assumptions.
- Card details are tokenised.
- Refunds run from the WooCommerce order screen.
