What is Git?
Git records every change to a codebase as a commit, so a team can see who changed what and why, work on branches in parallel, review changes before they merge and roll back when something breaks. Linus Torvalds wrote it in 2005 for the Linux kernel.
Hosts such as GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket add pull requests, reviews and pipelines on top.
How I use Git
At TeamQ I made Git, staging sites and automated backups part of the standards for every client project. Today the themes I run deploy through a pipeline I set up, so nothing reaches production by hand.
