What is ACF?
Advanced Custom Fields adds structured data to WordPress content: a date, a price, a repeater of team members, a relationship to another post. Developers define field groups once, editors fill them in, and templates read them out.
ACF Pro adds repeaters, flexible content and ACF blocks, which let developers build block editor blocks with PHP templates instead of React. It is one of the most installed plugins in WordPress.
How I use ACF
ACF has been part of my WordPress builds since my agency years. It was in the Design Republik stack, and I still use ACF blocks for components editors fill in without touching code.
For pages built with AI, keeping the data in ACF fields means the pages stay structured and editable by people.
